I have been moderating a local group of over 1000 people for quite a few years and it's been fabulous. I mostly give things I no longer use away, and take pleasure in finding people who want my surplus stuff. It's great for young families. I look for friends with babies. I love being able to give a big bag of clothes to a new mother. Of course, I wash them and take the tags off.
